Tag Rugby Festival

Report from Anika & Bethany….
On Wednesday 23rd March Holy Apostles’ took part in the Tag Rugby Tournament at Newlands and came 15th out of 41 teams.
The weather was scorching and we had to wear long sleeve tops! As we took 15  Year 6 pupils we swapped who was playing in the team after each match.
In our pool we played Arthur Dye which was won 2-1. Later on we played Gotherington, Charlton Kings, John Moore and Swindon Village. We played really well and won all of them except Charlton Kings which we lost 3-2. After the pool games we had time to relax and have some lunch. We all shared our food like a party and everyone behaved very well.

Organising the defence!

When lunch had ended the suspense began, which cup would we be playing for? Holy Apostles were in the 2nd division and were playing for the cup. We played three deciding games but lost our first one against Christ Church. Sadly we drew our next match against Grangefield but lost on try count back. Luckily we ended our last match with victory against John Moore.

Everyone enjoyed their day at Newlands; even though they didn’t win!

Well done to all yr 6’s who played, we did really well and I think we got much better throughout the day! We were unlucky not to win against Charlton Kings and also Christ Church. The weather was very hot but we all survived!Well done again I really enjoyed it!
